VDV Recommendation No. 820: „Workshop Facilities for the Maintenance of Low-Floor Vehicles“ [Print]

VDV Recommendation 820 provides an overview of a subject area with greatly increased importance.

VDV Recommendation 820 is intended to provide assistance for the facilities of workshops for the maintenance of low-floor vehicles of both bus transport and railroads, taking into account the greatest possible safety for the employees. It also provides guidance for the further development of existing workshops to adapt to changing vehicle fleets.

An example of this is the shifting of the focus of work from the underfloor to the roof area of the vehicles. Here, the overall system of the work stand must be considered. With the adjustments mentioned, the dimensions of the work stands also change, such as the depth of the work pits.

In the current revision of VDV Recommendation 820, the now established status in low-floor technology was incorporated into the specification accordingly.

The current edition of VDV Recommendation 820 replaces VDV Recommendation 820 "Workshop Facilities for the Maintenance of Low-Floor Vehicles" from 1996.
