VDV-Recommendation 452: VDV Standard Interface Route Network / Timetable including enhancements....Version 1.6.2 [PDF]

VDV recommendation 452 describes a standard interface for the transmission of route network and timetable
data that has been in widespread use for many years, e.g. for data transmission from timetable programmes to
ITCS and information systems.
Although alternative interfaces now exist (NeTEX with the German profile in accordance with VDV462; GTFS),
data transmission in accordance with VDV452 is still widely used, which is why maintenance of the interface
specification continues to be requested by users in transport companies and transport networks as well as the
supplying industry.
The interface was last expanded in version 1.6.1 (02/2021) to include the modelling of electromobility data
(battery electric buses).
Version 1.6.2 is a maintenance update of the recommendation to sustainably increase the quality of the ITCS
data supply:
Stops, stop points, lines and journeys have been expanded to include global IDs in accordance with
VDV432/433 as a basis for later use in the VDV301/452/453/454 interfaces.
In some tables, certain attributes have been added and/or value ranges have been adapted to practical
requirements.
Explanatory comments and clarifications have been added in some places.
In the introductory chapters 7 and 8, outdated or misleading statements on product compatibilities have been
corrected.
