VDV-Schrift 181 Air Conditioning for Urban and Suburban Rolling Stock - Passanger Areas [eBook im pdf-Format]
Ausgabe: 6/12
VDV Recommendation 181 deals with the comfort criteria as well as their verification and assessment in passenger areas of urban rail rolling stock. The new European standards EN 14750 and EN 14813 concerning heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for rolling stock only set out the basic requirements for the capacity of these systems. Therefore, the new VDV Recommendations 181 and 182 provide additional information that makes it easier for the user to formulate his requirements specifications meaningfully in consideration of the correlations, which are often not apparent, as well as to draft and dimension the components and the complete air conditioning system. Particularly the effects of the differentiating requirements parameters for the complete system, i.e. the vehicle, the on-board power supply system and the external traction current supply, are explained in this VDV Recommendation as the demand for electric power might increase so much otherwise that technical and/or operational problems arise, which also increase the running costs of the vehicles. The development of noise of air cooling systems also correlates closely with the dimensioning of the performance. VDV Recommendation 181 is the first of the two new Recommendations about heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for urban rail rolling stock, i.e. tramcars, light rail vehicles and metro vehicles. VDV Recommendation 182, which is being prepared at present, deals with the same subjects for driver’s cabs. Thus, the complete VDV Recommendation series 180 has been rearranged and replaced by the two new Recommendations. VDV Recommendation 181 supersedes VDV Recommendation 180/1 and partly also VDV Recommendations 180/3 und 180/4.
