Die Fahrzeuggeräte auf Omnibussen nutzen zur Steuerung und zur Überwachung von Komponenten und Geräten einen Fahrzeug-CAN-Datenbus. Die hierzu notwendigen Informationen sind nicht nur für die Geräte und das Fahrzeug von Interesse, sondern auch für die Betreiber der Fahrzeugflotten.
Zur Überwachung der Fahrzeugflotten wurde daher von den Omnibusherstellern die FMS-Schnittstelle spezifiziert. Hierüber werden die Informationen auf dem CAN-Bus des Fahrzeuges bereitgestellt. Zur Nutzung dieser Informationen in Ethernet basierten Kommunikationsnetzen, wie IBIS-IP, muss eine Übersetzung der Daten erfolgen und in den zugehörigen Protokollen und Diensten bereitgestellt werden.
The bus manufacturers have therefore specified the FMS interface for monitoring vehicle fleets. This is used to provide the information on the CAN bus of the vehicle. To use this information in Ethernet-based communication networks such as IBIS-IP, the data must be translated and made available in the corresponding protocols and services.
This VDV Communication VDV 3004 explains how this data can be transmitted in IBIS-IP using the FMStoIP service specification of ITxPT and made available to the transport companies. For this purpose it is explained how the FMStoIP service can be used in IBIS-IP.
